Hpt? Am I Doing It Right? Posted: 08-22-06 23:29pm
Hey,
i know this is an odd question. I have
taken hpt in the past and about 1 and half
weeks ago. My test came up negative. I
dont think I am pregnant but I am ttc.
Anywho what can you do to insure the hpt
is as accurate as possible. If you use a
cup the cup can have bacteria or something
in it that could possibly effect it. If
you urinate on it what if you dont urinate
long enough or too much? How do you know
you took the test correctly? Lol
thank you:)

Most tests have a control line...If that
line appears then you have taken it
correctly. Just be sure to read and
following the directions correctly and you
should be fine.

Bacteria in a clean, washed cup is not
going to affect a pregnancy test. Not
enough urine might, but it would need to
be a very small amount since you were
urinating in a cup.
Use your first morning urine and wait
until the day your period is due and/or is
late. That will give you the most
accurate reading.
Good luck!

Like ingi said it will not affect the
results. If you pee on a stick too much
pressure might affect the results, not
enough urine and too much urine as well
can affect the results. Most tests have a
second window and line will appear to show
if the test is correctly taken. The nest
way is to pee in a cup with 1st morning
urine and dip in the test for the amount
of time indicated on the package.
