I had a couple of severe nosebleeds in my 1 & 2nd trimester. They were so hard to control but its normal and its due to the increase of blood flow in your body....

Im 17 weeks too!! I been having nose bleeds and terrible gum bleeding also. It has something to do with more blood and blood flow.

Sounds like your blood pressure may be elevated also. Drink lots of water and stay away from salt as much as possible--it will help your pressure if it is hi.
