Hi, i'm from a country where people are
very conservative.
A girl cannot have sexual intercourse
before marriage,it's the law, and parents
who have a daughter who is pregnant before
marriage will die out of embarassment...
Now, the world of youth is changing really
fast in our place...
Parents/authority still have no idea how
different youths today compared to 20yrs
ago...
Me and my boyfriend study in a same
university...
We coupled up last year and have been
dating till now...
Without anybody's knowledge, we make out,
means we have sex...
We have sex whenever we have the chance
and we seldom use protection...
The problem now is, im not sure whether im
pregnant or not...
My period always come on
accordingly...Like if I were to have my
period on 24th feb, ill hv the next one on
26th march, and it goes on like tht...
However, last month, when I was supposed
to have my period on 22nd of july, I had
it on 23rd of july...
For this month, instead of having it today
i.E. 25th august, im not having it at
all...
Before having my menses, I usually feel
soreness on my breast..
Im feeling it too now, but they say if you
are pregnant you will feel soreness on
your breast too...
Im not sure whether im pregnant or
not...Pls help me...
Tell me how to stop pregnancy other than
having an abortion...
Pls....I dont want my parents to feel the
embarassment...
I cant take it...Pls...Help me pls...

Ok first of all the only other way to stop
pregnancy other than abortion is to take
the 72 hour pill,which is a long gone
chance for you.The only other options you
have are adoption or keep the baby and get
married. Just because your period was a
day late doesn't mean you are pregnant but
the fact that you have not had a period
since last month you should be getting it
soon.You should bot freak out until you
miss your period.If you don't get it by
next week you should test.You shouel realy
wither stop having sex or use some kind of
contraception.Good luck!

Ummm hello?! I work for planned
parenthood and an abortion clinics, and am
degreed in healthcare!
Morning after pill is not an abortion! It
will not end a pregnancy that is already
here..It will only flood the pregnancy
with pogestin hormones!
Unprotected sex will cause pregnancy, you
need to use condoms or brith control.
Are there aboriton lcinics in your
country??

Carifairy is right; what most people don't
know is that the 'morning after pill' only
prevents ovulation, and that's how it
prevents pregnancy. If you're already
pregnant it won't do anything, which is
why it should be taken as soon as
possible. It is not the "abortion pill"
(.R.U 487 whatever number it is). The
abortion pill is not even available in
america, to my knowledge.

Yes, the abortion pill is available in
america, but amny women do not like it
because it is more painful and takes
longer than a surgical abortion.
The whole ru-486 abortion contractions and
heavy bleeding can take up to 8 hours!
Whereas a surgical abortion is 3-5 minutes
and you can easily be alsleep during it.
Ru 486 induces a miscarriage, and you take
another pill for contractions.
The average is 4 hours during a medical
abortion, you can vomit, have diahreah and
'gush' blood..
Trust me, surgical is much easier.

No it is not...
Medical abortion can be done using two
drugs..Either ru-486(mifepristone)
or an injection of methotrexate...
But this only kills the pregnancy, you
must expel it as well...
You have to use a prostaglandin called
'cytotec' or generic 'misoprostol' to
induce contractions.

Ah, thank you... Then why was everyone's
panties in a bunch a couple of years ago
about ru487? There was some big
controversy about it... I wasn't sexually
active at that age, I think I was only in
10th or 11th grade...

Here was the problem...
You are suposed to take ru-486, the orally
take the cytotec which starts the
cramping..
But many clinics tell women to take the
cytotec vaginally, and fingers can
introduce infections into the vagina.. A
few women dies from infections associated
with the cytotec, not the ru-486.
I personally do not reccomend medical
abortion..Why not have surgical, you are
asleep and it is done in 3-5 minutes.
They are both equally safe, with surgical
actually technically being safer..

i am sorry for your circumstances. Your
country's views on sex and pregnancy are
very archaic, sexist, and ridiculous.
But, you already know that.
The only way to know that you are
pregnant is to take a pregnancy test.
Are there any clinics available for you?
No views were ever changed from being
afraid. If you, and others in your
situation, keep their mouths shut then
this cycle of embarassment and suppression
will continue on and on. Tell your
parents, & do not be ashamed. I
know this is very easy to say, but I have
been there in a similar situation and it
was not the end of the world. Perhaps
even your mother was in a similar
situation herself at one point. I'm sure
you're not the only girl who's ever been
in this situation. That's just what they
want you to think.
The only alternative to pregnancy is
abortion. I hope you have some resources
available to you.
Please, please, get contraception. Or
stop doing it! The highest chances of
conceiving are two weeks after your period
started. Avoid sex during this time.
But since you are so irregular...Avoid sex
until you get contraception.
