Q: Those Who Are Already Mommies

How many of you went over your due date with your first baby? My office manager and the volunteers here are all convinced that i'm going to be over due... They always say things like "you're going to be over due" and "you're not going to go into labor until your 42 weeks"... When they say this, it depresses me... Especially b/c my doctor keeps telling me that we're ahead of schedule and he's changed my due date twice b/c her size is increasing rapidly. I was supposed to be due december 6, then he changed it to the 2nd, now to november 28, and he says that we can probably expect her early (she is already 15 inches long, and weighs almost 3 pounds! Her brain and legs are measuring 2 weeks ahead). But the ladies at my office keep saying "oh, well the doctor always tells you that she's coming early, he's only saying that" ... I know that the doctor's can't ever know for sure, so I was just wondering if the myth that first time mommies are always averdue?

Yeah everyone told me the same thing...And I went almost two weeks late..And jace ended up being 8lbs. 3oz. He was a huggeee baby..Or to me he was because I am smaller and I never thought that big of a baby would fit in me..Lol..But yeah alot of people say with your first you usually go over..My doc told me that throughtout my pregnancy...And it ended up happening..The night they scheduled me to be induced ..I was in labor when I got there..

But good luck I hope you dont have to go through misery like I did ..:)

I have had 6 children and all of them have come before their due dates.

My first child was due right before christmas and I ended up having her on dec 10.

Your baby will come when it is ready.

Wow tazzy:) that makes me feel better :) i'm just afraid that she's going to be overdue and i'm going to have to have a c-section b/c she's too big... By doctor tells me at every visit "wow, she's going to be a big baby". Pregnancy can be so scary sometimes... So many unknowns...

If you do end up needing a c/s hun dont worry it will be okay. I ended up having 2, and actually it was alot easier, and as long as you are an active person you will have a speedy recovery. I wish a natural birth for you, but just remember that they will do what is in the best interest for the both of you. You and your baby..

Pretty hot dreamer

nah just kidding......... It doesnt matter what type of degree that anyone has. It boils down to gravity. When the baby is ready he or she will be here. Late, early, or on the actual date....

Good luck..
