Lopressor - Metoprolol Side Effects ??? Posted: 08-28-06 13:40pm
I have been taking metoprolol - 25mg twice
daily for the past 2-1/2yrs. I gained 12
lbs. Within 2wks time about 2yrs ago and
cannot lose it no matter what (have since
gained a total of 20 lbs). I exercise
faithfully, run, walk and workout and eat
right. Also, my hair has thinned about
50% and my hands sometimes get swollen
(i'm 38yrs old). Has anybody else had
these symptoms due to taking this
medicine? If so, what did you do? I
can't just stop taking it, but really
don't want to change to a new med. I've
read that sudden weight gain and
reversible hair loss can be a side-effect.
I just wanted to find out if anyone
found a doctor that concurs with that and
what you did about it. Thanks.
