I've Been On the Pill And I Think That I May Be Pregnant Posted: 08-29-06 11:09am
I'm sixteen and i've been taking the pill
without missing a day. I had sex and I
took a test thing that said that I would
be six weeks pregnant if I am pregnant at
all and within the last week i"ve been
feeling extremely nausous to the point
where I could not get off of the couch for
a day. I'm sure that this wasn't the flu
because it has lasted for a week and a
half but has calmed down in the last
couple of days and when I had my period it
was a little shorter than usual. What's
the likely hood that i"m pregnant?

If you've been taking your pill correctly
then the chances are vastly reduced but
it's never impossible as no contraception
is 100% (i've become pregnant twoce whilst
taking my birth control correctly).
What test did you do?
If you're concerned then take a home test,
the nausea could be morning sickness but
it may not be anythingmore than some kind
of bug or even pychological if you've been
imagining you're pg.
Take a test and then you'll know one way
or the other for sure.

It was one of those online test that you
tell them the day of conception and the
day of your last normal period and they
tell you the chances of you being pregnant
mine was 26%.

Those online pregnancy tests are about as
accurate as the online iq tests. If
you're very concerned, do not depend on an
internet test that someone probably made
out of boredom. Take a home pregnancy
test.
How long have you been on the pill for?
Has it had any significant impact on your
cycles? Have you noticed any changes in
your periods since you had sex? Do you
use any other form of protection besides
birth control? If so, did it fail (condom
broke, etc.)? Are you on any kind of
medication that could interfere with the
effectiveness of the pill (i.E.,
antibiotics)?
Nausea is a pregnancy symptom - I won't
deny that. But it could also be a side
effect of the pill, it could be a stomach
bug, or it could be the flu. And it's not
unusual for the flu to last as long as it
has for you. The last time I came down
with it, I was nautious, weak, and overall
miserable for over two weeks. As moo
said, it could all just be in your head;
women who either really want to be
pregnant or really do not want to be
pregnant often develop pseudo-pregnancy
symptoms.
I would advise getting a home pregnancy
test, and regardless of the outcome, I
would suggest finding out if there is any
way you could get a blood test done. I
suggest the latter just to rule out false
negatives (or positives, in rare cases).

I've been on the pill for about six
months...The only thing that happened with
my cycle because of the pill is that it
has gotten shorter and last for four days
everytime. And this time it only last
for two days...No we didn't use any other
form of birthcontrol because I didn't plan
on having sex and i'm not on any
medication.
My best friend and I are going to the
local health department to get a test done
tomarrow.

Believe me, when I was concerned about
being pregnant, I took the online test and
it said I had a 89% chance of being
pregnant when really I was just stressed
over school and work. If after taking a
home preg test and you still dont feel
confortable with the result, go see your
doc, it could put your mind at ease
