Well I finaly went to the gyno and talked
to them about why I have yet to get
preggers... Come to find out the tech who
gave me my test results read them
incorrectly.. I have pcos. I realy don't
know what to do or how to react. I just
want to scream at someone, but it is no
ones fault.
They are starting me on metformin and I go
in next month to make sure that my tubes
are not blocked. I think this is going to
be a long 6 months until things start to
right them selves.

Honey the tube test was easy for me...I
dreaded it and put it off for a long time
and it only hurt when he stuck the tube
through my cervix and then it was
over....Took all of 10 mins. I also have
severe pcos......My ovaries are completely
covered in cysts which means I don't
ovulate at all even with the fert. Drugs.
I know exactly how you feel...My husband
bought an ept every mth for almost 2 years
and every mth we always got a neg. All I
can tell you is good luck with the test
and your round of drugs. But please
remember that those aren't the only option
for you to bring a child into your home.
Stay strong honey cause your going to
need to be.

i know and I am at just the begining of my
treatment and realy not sure of what to
expect. The metformin seems to be
bothering my intestines but other than
that I seem to be having any other side
effects. Although I am only on the 500 mg
dose and have 2 more weeks before I will
be on the full 1500mg dose.
Only one problem I have seemed to have
developed a yeast infection, but I am not
sure if it was caused by the medicaion or
just cause.

What i'm not understanding is why they
have you on anything yet if they haven't
finished all your tests? I know my
doctor refused to do so until I had my
last test done which was the dye test.
How does he know if you have any blockages
or scarring? And to put you on any kind
of drugs to help you get preg. Before he
knows for sure seems very irresponsible
to me.

I was just diagnosed with pcos also.
The reason for treatment before her hsg to
check to see if her tubes are blocked is
because pcos doesn't just cause
infertility. Even if you aren't trying
to get pregnant and you have pcos, you
should still be treated. Pcos causes
diabetes, cardiac problems and a host of
other things. The medication given for
pcos helps to regulate your body to
prevent other diseases from happening and
just happens to help with fertility along
the way. Even if her tubes are blocked
and they fix that, she will still need tx
for the pcos. I haven't started any
meds yet as I am waiting for a follow up
appt to get a prescription. I have been
reading that the tummy troubles will
subside once you reach your full dosage
and have been one it for a couple of
weeks. I'm not sure about the yeast
infection though. You may want to give
your doctor a call.

I know all about pcos has I was told 3
and 1/2 years ago I had it when a cyst
ruptured. I was only relating what my
dr's told me and they all refused to put
me on anything until every last one of my
tests were finished. They were not
willing to take chances with my health.
And as I said before it seems very
irresponsible to me for her Dr. To do so
until he knows for sure her tests were all
done and there were no further problems to
contend with. Again that is my opinion
based on how my Dr. Treated me.
