It is unlikely to be the baby's heartbeat if you haven't even tested positive yet. It takes weeks before the heartbeat can be heard with a doppler let alone a stethoscope.

Your grandmother probably heart your heatbeat.

Yeah...The other girls are right. She probably heard your heartbeat.

My boyfriend had to use his best stethoscope to hear the baby's heartbeat, and that wasn't even until I was like 33 weeks.

There is no way she heard the heartbeat with a stethoscope ...It is very difficult to hear it with a store bought doppler as well. Im 28 weeks pregnant and I couldnt hear it with a stethoscope just the other day..So its not what she heard.

Thats funny coz in a few websites ive been on it says if ur in a very quite room and someone puts their ear to your tummy there is a possablity your will hear the babys heartbeat my bf tried it and he says he heard it but it was much quicker than what a normal heartbeat sounds like and I says well thats the babys coz babys heartbeats are alot quicker
this is a quote froma websire www.Pregnancy.Org
read the bit about the heartbeat, only thing is its about 20 weeks through your pregnancy that u can hear

week twenty
you're half way there!
The rapid growth stage is about over. While things have slowed down, this next stage is vital to survival.
The baby's heart grows stronger. Find a quiet place, lay flat on your back. Locate your own heartbeat by finding your pulse. Next lay your hand on your belly. You may be able to distinguish the two heartbeats!
His legs are reaching their relative size. With the increase muscle develop occurring as well, you will start feeling much more than tiny flutter kicks soon!
Immunities are being transferred from you to your baby now. These immune cells will protect her from viruses you've already had for up to six months after birth!
The nerve cells for taste, smell, hearing, seeing, and touch are now developing in specialized areas of the brain. Production slows down as existing nerve cells grow larger and make more complex connections.
Your baby may startle in reaction to loud sounds. Amazingly, she can actually hear noises outside of the womb. Familiar voices, music, and sounds that baby becomes accustomed to during her development stages often are calming after birth.
If your baby is a girl, her uterus is starting to develop. She has approximately six million eggs in her ovaries. About one million will remain at birth.
Baby is about 6.46 inches (16.4cm) and weighs around 10.58 ounces (300g).

Ohh man..

When I was 35 weeks pregnant I got into a bad wreck. I asked the ambulance tech if they could use the stethascope (sp?) to find the baby's heartbeat and they just laughed. They're is noo way you can hear the baby's heartbeat with a stethascope or your ear.Do you know how thick your skin + the uterus + the placenta is? There's no way. You can quote all you want but I think it's just common sense.

I swore that you would be able to find it with a stethascope but I got slammed! Hahaha..She hasn't replied...So I would't get yas panties in a bunch over this thread.

Right so if someone put their ear to your body they couldnt hear your heartbeat?

If you go to a quite place and someone put their ear to your tummy and located the nearest arse to you baby they could hear a baby heart beat too!

Im not talkin caca coz my bf heard my babys and my doc has put a kinda plastic horn thing on my tummy and heart the babys heartbeat too

and another thing why would a website telling you how your babys is growin week by week say you could hear the heartbeat when you cant :-?!!

1st of all your heart is much much bigger....And secondly its not hidden behind muscle, uterus, planceta , amniotic fluids and some people fat!!! So think logically before you talk caca...

yea you right!!

The reason why you can hear your own heartbeat is because only flesh and your ribcage block your heart. They have .N.O.T.H.I.N.G on a uterus.

I mean if your man said he heard it...Then I guess he did. I'm not a doctor I just know what I know.
