Diagnosing MS...my son is getting sicker and sicker Posted: 09-01-06 16:21pm
My son had become ill last spring. His
symptoms included headache, dizziness,
numbness in legs, after many test the DR.
concluded it was migrains and put him on
pain killers, which did not work. Then as
the winter started to aproach his symptoms
began to go away. He was fine for several
months finally feeling his old self again.
Then came the spring of this year and he
began to get sick again, this time he has
vision problems and hearing loss, pains in
his legs and is very dizzy. Again back to
the DR. and the clinical diagnosis was MS,
but after all his test came back negative
the DR told us he couldn't help and sent
us on our way. Please advise as to what we
should do next. My son is sick and getting
sicker
I'll need to know what kinds of tests were
performed on your son and what kind of
specialists examined him in order to
provide an accurate summary. According
to your son’s symptoms, (various
neurological symptoms that vary in
intensity but become worse in time) he
might be experiencing multiple sclerosis.
But multiple sclerosis (MS) must first be
confirmed with a positive CT-scan reading
for MS and confirmed presence of
anti-myelin antibodies in the
cerebrospinal liquid. You can bring your
son to a neurologist for a detailed
physical and laboratory examinations.
