Minocycline? Posted: 09-02-06 07:24am
Anyone used minocycline for their acne?
I've been on it for about 2 weeks and have
seen a major improvement. I've got a
couple of places.. But my period is
coming soon so that's what's up with that.
I feel really nauseated a lot though and
have headaches a couple of hours after
taking my pill though. Is this normal?

Oh Yes, I've Tried It! Posted: 09-03-06 21:54pm
I was on that medication for about 3
years.. I think it works wonders! At
first it does make you a little sick ...
But that's normal. You can try taking it
ever other day and slowly start taking the
dose your doctor perscribed you until your
body gets use to it. If not, then your
body will adjust in time. Just be sure
that if you are taking any other
perscriptive medications, the acne meds
may make the other meds lose their
effectivness (ie: birth control) so
yeah... Just so you know! :)

My face is doing really good. Only a
couple of minor places around my mouth,
jawline. But my back is a totally
different story and I don't understand
why. I have been using brevoxyl wash on
my face in combination w/ the pills, so
i'm not sure if it's the pills working or
the wash! Hah i'm so confused.. Any
answers?

That is good that your starting to see an
improvement already. It takes about six
weeks for your body to actually build up a
blood level. Don't be surprised if you
have a relapse in the next few weeks.
Just keep taking it as your supposed to.
I used the drug for a while, pretty much
as a weed drug to get to accutane. It
helped me some, but mine was severe enough
that nothing but accutane was really going
to touch it.
Good luck

antibiotics are bad for overall health I
would recommend a more holistic and
natural approach, for what it's worth...

Well when you've had it for 7 years like
me you've probably tried just about
everything. & I have. Tired of
everyone trying to say that "natural"
remedies will cure your acne. Ha, i'm
sorry but that's bull - yeah maybe if you
have like 1 or 2 tiny spots I can
understand using a natural home remedy or
something. But when you battle everyday
breakouts something stronger is needed.
