Vitamin Fortified Lotions: Do They Break Down Posted: 09-05-06 15:58pm
I read in a health book that it's not a
good idea to make a big pitcher of green
tea and leave it in the refrigerator for a
week, because the polyphenols in it start
breaking down and becoming ineffective
soon after it's brewed.
Many sunscreens and lotions have not only
green tea polyphenols in them, but
vitamins and other supposedly healthful
nutrients in them. But if the healthful
compounds in green tea begin to breakdown,
do they do the same in these lotions,
creams, etc., thus losing their potency.
If so, how long would a bottle of such
nutrient fortified lotion, ointment, etc.
Last, even under idea conditions.
