Is This a Type of Anxiety Or Is This Normal?
Posted: 09-05-06 16:32pm

I’m not sure if my thoughts are normal or not. I know everyone may experience some type of fear but I go through it 24/7 and it’s making me go crazy. My brain is consistently thinking that something horribly wrong will happen to my family or even me. I can’t stand that I think too much into detail. I worry about every single little detail on stupid normal daily routines. I fear death and have horrible thoughts come to mind throughout the day. If I go to the grocery store I think everyone is watching and talking about me. I could be working or watching my boys play and all of a sudden I would have a horrifying thought of my family or myself getting hurt and will start to cry. That can’t be normal. What does this sound like to you? Please any thoughts/suggestions will help me a great deal.

Thanks!

Sounds like obsessive compulsive disorder. Everyone has a little bit of ocd, but sometimes it invades your life. Try reading up on it at psychcentral.Com or a similar website. When those thoughts invade your mind, turn it into something positive. Imagine yourself as the hero. Sometimes it stems from insecurity. Your md can help you on your road too.

It does sound like anxiety and ocd. Why don't you try and join a cbt group. It will teach you how to keep things in perspective and learn how not too worry so much.
