Q: Can I be having a Miscarriage?
asked by: DoctorQuestion on September 8th, 2006
I've been gaining weight for about two months and had my period last month. It seemed a little early, but I thought I was just adjusting to the women that I was living with. This month, my period came a week and a half to two weeks early. I normaly have really light flows with little to no clots, but this is extremely heavy and with large clots. I'm in a lot of pain in my abdomen, back and brests. I feel that I can barely move. I'm feeling nausious and have little to no appetite. Can I be having a miscarrage? Please reply to this soon, if I am, I know I need to go to the doctor.

According to the symptoms you report (having an earlier and heavier period with cramps) plus the fact that you had your period last month... it doesn’t seems likely that you are experiencing a miscarriage. You can, however, perform a home pregnancy test. If it is positive, then you are probably experiencing a miscarriage. If the pregnancy test is negative, then the vaginal bleeding may be due to many other reasons. No matter the result from the home pregnancy test, you should visit your gynecologist as soon as possible.
