Does anyone know when you start you actual period after pregnany? Is it true that it is about 6 weeks after delivery?

are you breast feeding?

It depends on the woman. It isn't the same for everyone.

No I am no longer breastfeeding. I was till about 3 days or so ago.

Your period could return at 6 weeks, or it could take as long as a few months to return to normal. It is not unusual for your body to need a year to adjust - so your periods may be wonky for awhile. -- or, they could just go right back to normal.

Even while I breastfed, I got my period. But my best friend was periodless for more than a year! I was jealous! ;)

you asked in another thread about fertility. You will be fertile at any time after birth - even if your cycle hasn't come back to normal. Use birth control at all times unless you expect to get pregnant.

At your 6 week post partum check up with your doctor, he will discuss birth control options for you. If you plan on going on the pill, this would be a good time to get that prescription!

When I had my son I breast fed for a little over 6 weeks...He was born on the 29th of july(2005)..And I think my first period was in october..--which im not sure if everyone is the same..So maybe you should talk with your doctor about it..They might could give you a better answer than I can..Lol

Yea I guess you could say I am pritty lucky. I sure thought so when the bleeding stopped. I was like thank goodness.
