Crying At Nothing
Posted: 09-10-06 10:51am

Ever since beginning birth control my mood has seem to be shot. I cry over the smallest, stupidest stuff.. & when i'm with my boyfriend I get mad over the craziest things.. I'm not that kind of girl to get all hissy over stupid stuff so I know the birth controls causing my mood to go down the drain! Last night at my cousins wedding my bf made the statement that he was probably just going to go to bed whenever he got home [it was getting late] since he had to work early this morning. We normally go back to his house & have sex and just hang out w/ eachother .. But we haven't had sex since wednesday b/c he's been so busy w/ work & I guess it just really upset me that once again, we wouldn't be getting intimate! Ha so I started crying & making a fool of myself. Just little things like that have been happening lately.

Good thing we get to spend time w/ eachother tonite. I know I made a complete fool of myself crying like a hissy health forum last night!

Hey. Don't feel bad. You know it's the hormones in the birth control. So when you feel that way just relax. It sounds easier than it is, but think of something else. Or just bit your tongue and be strong. ^_^ when sex become a regualr routine in a couples life, and something like "being too busy" get in the way of that, yeah you're gonna feel like he doesn't "want" you. Just remember, a relationship isn't just based on sex, it's about being there for each other and being the best of friends. I'm sure you probably know this, but just think of it anytime you feel like he doens't want you. If he or you or both of you get too busy for something that you usually do (sex, watching movies, just spending time together, etc.) just sit down and talk to him about it. Tell him how you feel. Lol and try not to cry. It probably makes him feel bad. Lol!!!! ^_^ hope everything goes well.

Thanks so much for posting that! It really makes me feel so much better! I think the best thing for me to do when I feel my mood start to "change" or when I feel like putting my bf on a guilt trip is just to relax & breathe.. Makes sense huh? Thanks again love ! <3

Hi there! Have you ever thought about another form of b/c such as an iud or possibly changing your brand of b/c pills, you might think of discussing this with your dr as you might be getting too much hormones of course I am not a Dr.But I would think about bringing this conversation up with your Dr.
Good luck!

good suggestions for other types, but, if you do get something like an iud, keep in mind that it is very very painful and very expensive. Some people have said that even having intercourse is very painful. Also, if you haven't had any children before you get it, it can even be worse! I like the idea that maybe, if you ever get sick and tired of feeling that way (upset or very sensitive) that you could look into getting on another form or pill of birth control. Patch, shot, the ring, or maybe just a different type of pill, less hormones. Make sure to discuss it with your doctor or clinic professonial though. Let them know how you feel, don't be scared to tell them anything. ^_^ hey, i'm on the shot and i'm doing pretty good so far. ^_^ just remember, everyone reacts to everything differently, especailly when it comes to your body. ^_^ yey! Happiness!

An iud is not very very painful necessarily..Mine was not..I also have no children..

There are techniques that can be used to reduce pain during an iud insertion.

I was on the low dose hormone ortho tri cyclen lo. I felt the same way you did. I was crying for no reason and kept blaming things on my boyfriend. I couldn't control my emotions at all. So I went to my obgyn and she said that sometimes low dose bc's can do that to you sometimes. So i'd switch to something else. She put me on yasmin, and everything has balanced out. No outbursts no nothing.

Mood Swing Has to Do With Lack of Vitamin B6!!
Posted: 09-12-06 20:25pm

My doctor told me that mood swings during bc are usually caused by a lack of vitamin b6. She said that if you take daily multivitamins, such as centrum (which is what I take), then your mood swings wont happen. Almost nobody gets 100% dv of b6 so they have to take a multivitamin. I would go out and get some asap!:)

besides, multivitamins make you feel better in many ways. They're great!

Well I have to go back to my gyno next month for a colposcopy [they found "abnormal cells" from my pap smear] - so when I go then I think i'll talk to her about maybe switching birth control pills?

What would you guys recommend?

these vitamins you speak of, do they make you feel better all around? Would you suggest them for a normal everyday use?

I'd ask to change. That's what I did. I went in to see her for 5 mins to get a new prescription waited two hours. Ihad to go get anothe rpap smear too. They said I had a low reading and that I might have hpv. Turned out that i'm ok but she still wants me to go in again. That's 3 pap smears in a year. I don't want to go again because she said I was ok but the bf wants to be sure... So for the sake of him i'll spread my legs again lol

Bc And Anxiet/depression??
Posted: 09-24-06 20:17pm

Is it typical to have anxiety and depression while on bc? I was on the patch for a number of years and only had emotional outbreaks once in awhile, now I have been on avaine/allesse for 3 months and the week of my period/placebo pills my mood is outrageously crazy!!! I am hard to deal with and mad about everything! My question is, is this normal? And is it possible to take an anti-depressant while on bc? Will that effect the effectivness??

It is 100% possible and okay to use anti depressants while on bc pills..

I cannot use hormones, and I am already on an anti depressant... Some women just have more side effects than others, so switching pills and finding something new is a good idea.

I did that and it did not work for me.

Nuva ring is actually the most well tolerated birth control in women who just cannot tolerate anything else.
