Posted: 09-10-06 20:18pm

I think im going to give up on getting preggo... I think it cant be done.... Like im getting so upset about it! Everyone around me is preggo..... But ofcourse even if I have sex everyday it doesnt happen.... I dont know what to do. I think I want to give up... And look into adoption this is getting depressing stressful and overwelming...... I think there is something wrong with me and or my fiance'.......

Has anyone else gone through this ( just wanting to stop trying )

How long have you two been trying, .Rachel?
If it hasn't been a year- then don't give up, yet!
It usually takes even a healthy fertile couple
a long time (up to a year) to conceive!

If you've been trying for a year,
then you can see a specialist to see what's up!

I wish I could pass my "fertileness" on to you...

I feel so bad when people try for years and can't have babies, and I accidentily get pregnant!

I hope things work out for you!

The first time I got pregnant - it was accidentally (well as accidental as rape gets)

the second time it took me 3 years to conceive.
Since then (2 years) against all odds I have conceived twice, unfortunately 1 was ectopic and the other was a non-viable pregnancy (blighted ovum).

I hope you don't mind me asking, but what is a 'blighted' ovum? Does it just mean a dodgy egg?

Natalie, you know you can get pregnant, because you have..... Good news! I know it's hard to not think of it, but if you just let it go and say if it happens---great, if not, it will one day. I know it's easier said than done..... Believe me hun! When I conceived .Brian I was switching b/c and bam!!! Just like that! A year after he was born we started trying again. After one year and nothing I made an appt. With my ob/gyn. Finally, 2 months after that .Jordan was conceived. With my m/c, I conceived well, just being lazy and not picking up my prescription. I was off b/c for 2 months . Now with this pregnancy, we never stopped trying since we m/c'd last june. One year of trying and now i'm carrying my precious bean ;)

it'll happen hun!!!

Rachel, hun.... Have patience!!! Honestly, if you think about it.... You have to have sex at the *precise* moment for conception to occur. Just have fun trying, because thats the best part of the whole thing!! :-)

Adoption is a good thing! Their are a lot of kids and baby's out there that needs love and a good home. You know I gave up after 4 bad experiences and that is when things happened for me but it is also a good idea to get yourselves both checked out it could even be just the stress.
I wish you the best whatever you decide!

Yea girl, don't quit. After I got off of birth control it took me and my fiance a whole year and a half. As a matter of fact, the month before I got pregnant, I gave up. I was like f*ck it, it's just not meant to be. I thought something was wrong with me. Well the next month, .Hurrican .Katrina hit and my period didn't come. I was 3 weeks pregnant and had no idea. I tested when I was about 5 weeks and...Well you know the rest...

Please don't give up mentally. It will happen for you. God knows what he's doing and I promise his timing for you will be perfect.

With me, god timed it to cheer me up after the most devistating storm ripped into my city....

not at all :)
usually it is just a case of the egg not containing any/all the dna strings and therefore once that egg is fertilised by a sperm, it will often implant and then nothing will happen.

What happen was my hcg levels stayed really low and didn't double like they should.
Because of what has happened with me so far my doctor gave it more than the usual chances to develop (although I was kept a close eye on as low hcg levels can indicate an ectopic and I already had one so that put me at greater risk of another - especially with my messed up tube), but it didn't and then shortly afterwards, I expelled everything like a period.
It can't be called a miscarriage because there wasn't a developing baby to miscarry - just a collection of faulty cells.
