Stopped Taking My Pills Mid-cycle Posted: 09-13-06 15:51pm
I have been taking bc for 9 years. I had
my last period 8/30 then took three pills
and decided to stop taking them because we
decided to start ttc. Then on 9/9 I
started spotting on 9/9 and starting
bleeding on 9/11. My question is would
this be considered an actual period or is
this breakthough bleeding? According to
the 8/30 date I should be ovulating now
and I am trying to determine if it should
be moved back a week because of the new
bleeding??? Please help?

On the pill you do not ovulate, and your
whole cycle is taken over by the pill for
the most part..
You cannot accurately guage ovulation
based on a period you get after stopping
the pills because you could ovulate
anytime, so you need to wait a few cycles
before you try and prevent pregnancy with
that method.
