Am I Stuck With Abstinence? Posted: 09-13-06 23:44pm
I love the people in this community and
all of you guyz are really very inspiring
and helpful...So I decided to post here
some of you already know me..Brief
background..College sophomore student, 18
years old in a year monogamous
relationship..
Anyways I have been thinking these days
that maybe abstinence is right for me. I
tried it so many times but I failed
because I really love and enjoy having sex
with my wonderful man and my libido is
above the ceiling...
I'm using a very effective birth control
(copper iud plus condoms). I know it's
very effective but I don't know how
effective. I'm not really ready for
pregnancy. Is abstinence the answer?
Does anybody feel the same way that I do?
Because as of now I kinda feel alone on
this. Thanks in advance for any replies

If abstinence was the answer, there
wouldn't be teen pregnancy. And the birth
control market would drop substancially.
;)
the simple truth is abstinence does not
work. Mostly due to being 'caught up in
the moment' issues. It is far better to
be prepared than to think you just won't
have sex anymore.
If you are using a copper iud and condoms
you are more than protected. If you are
still concerned, use some spermicide also.
If you become pregnant with all of those
methods, then perhaps that is what fate
is. Perhaps, much like when we die, when
it is your time, it is your time. If
you've done everything to protect yourself
and you still become pregnant, it would
indeed be 'your time'.
However, if you add up the effectiveness
of those combined methods of birth
control, it would be over 100%, so that's
pretty safe.
