B/c it can cause your body temperature to get too high for the baby and also cause you to pass out, thats why they said to avoid them and really hot baths...Sux I know..Lol

It could cause a miscarriage if you get to overheated...Yes it can kill the baby. But we are talking extreme hotness. Most common side effects were children born with mental problems, because if the fetus overheats it can cause brain damage. I wouldn't recommend it. Don't freak out...I mean you can go in hottish water as long as you don't start to feel real hot and overheated. If you are hot and overheated....So is that lil baby!

Oh No
Adding to that question lets say you are only one to three weeks preggie, could taking a hot bath effect the baby even if you are not hot or at least dont feel hot, and well sounds dumb but what about hott showers,

I am in my third trimester and I dont think that hot baths can effect the baby and not showers. It would have to be hot enough to scold your flesh. I hope hot baths don't effect your baby because the last two months I have been taking a very veryyyy hot bath nightly to relieve body pain.

I did too and my daughter was fine. Your just not supposed to sit in a hottub till you get all dizzy and sweaty.

the Reason
That you are not supposed to go into a hot tub while pregnant is because the heat constricts your blood vessels making it harder for blood and oxygen to get to the fetus. It is perfectly fine to take a bath that is close to your own body temperature. Generally the temp. In a hot tub is about 105-110 degrees which is too hot for baby. When you take a shower you're not using water that is in this temperature range.
