My otherwise healthy 12yrold complained
that for a month, she kept getting
"interrupted" by flashbacks. These
memories would pop up out of nowhere and
intrude on her life. They are not bad
thoughts or thoughts of a past horrible
event. They are silly and have no bearing
on what she is doing. They "don't
belong". She is fully conscious, feels no
pain and has no other symptoms. She can
talk, walk and looks to everyone else,
fine. Only later will she say, "hey, a
flashback bothered me again" her only
emotion is confusion as to why the thought
was there.
Her pedneuro is convinced they are partial
seizures (pending some confirmation via
tests). Can partials be that simple? Can
they be left alone if they don't cause any
problems? Does anyone know the likelihood
that the partials become complex or more
severe?
