Hello, my name is joey I am 19 years old
and currently pregnant with my first
child.. The doctor suspects that I am
about 32 weeks pregnant based on my
ultrasounds, however based on calculation
and my last menstral period I would be
about 34 weeks pregnant. Could I still be
34 weeks pregnant and my baby just growing
small? Does the due date change your
conception date?
I went into premature labor on august 23,
while in the hospital the nurse checked me
several times and said that my cervixs was
25% effaced and that she could almost get
a finger in my cervix which would have
made me about 2 cm dialated..She also said
that the baby had dropped from -4 which is
considered normal to -2. When I talked
with my mid-wife about this issue she said
the the nurse most likely guessed these
thing... I am so confused and fustrated.
Why would they guess?
Since my premature labor I have been
having more frequent contractions, and
alot of mucus discharge! Sometimes my
discharge is tinted yellow, and others it
is clear..Its always a jelly like
substance, could this be my mucus plug?
My mid-wife doesn't seem to want to answer
my questions.. Which makes everything
more fustrating. When I ask my mid-wife
questions she just says that more
discharge is normal.. What kinda of
discharge is normal? I had increased
discharge since my pregnancy began..
However my discharge has changed to this
jelly like substance...
Does anyone have any answers.. If so
thanks!

Hi there. The yellow discharge you are
getting sounds like thrush (a yeast
infection) I had the exact same thing and
thought it was something bad. You should
speak to your doctor as they can advise
you on tablets or creams that should clear
it up.
They may give you an internal tablet to
take. They did with me when I was
pregnant and it cleared it up great.

I have tried to talk to my mid-wife
numerous times about this issue..And she
just tells me oh that is normal.. However
when I was in premature labor the nurses
said that it sounded to them as my mucus
plug.. So it confuses me.. I have the
mid-wife telling me its fine and the
nurses telling me different.. Thanks for
your advise.. I will ask my doctor about
the possibility of it being thrush and
hopefully she will have some advice.

Is it thick and stretchy or quite runny?

It's thick and stretchy. The yellowish
tint has faded for the most part and now
its clear or whiteish.. However everyonce
and a while it still appears to have a
yellowish tint. Thanks for the help!

It still sounds like thrush to me. I used
to always think it was my plug but it
never. You should still get checked out
but the yellow is a sign of infection
which is the yeast infection.

Thanks for the advise. I will ask my
mid-wife about it... I have been asking
her for about 4 weeks already and she has
never mentioned it even being a
possibility, but then again she doesn't
answer any of my questions...
