Hey hun
hey I am a mother of a month old baby boy
and I just had him circumcised last week..
When my son got his done it is was the
mogen method which literally takes 40
seconds and they use 4 methods of pain
control for the baby it was bloodless and
fast... Dominick didnt even flinch once
http://www.Circumcisionvan
couver.Com/ there is a website on the
method that I went with for my son

Some medical benefits of circumcision are
- it has been shown to reduce the risk of
urinary tract infection
- it reduces the risk of penile infection
also called balanoposthitis
-it elimates the need to do it later in
life 6% of boys will require circumcision
do to medical reasons doing it later in
life takes longer to heal is way more
painful and requires a general ansethtic
instead of a local one
-circumcision has been shown to reduce the
risk of getting some sexually transmitted
diseases including the human papilloma
virus (hpv) and aids
-circumcision has been shown to reduce the
risk of penile cancer and cervical cancer
in partners
- some studies also show that circumcised
men have a less risk of a sexual
dysfunction later in life...

There are compelling medical arguments for
and against circumcision which has
prompted many parents to leave the
decision to their sons when the reach
adulthood.
However the one constant appears to be
that uncircumcised males must be extremely
diligent with their personal hygiene in
order to avoid uti's.
If you decide to proceed insist on a
detail explanation of the chosen method
and the doctors strategy for pain
management.

Truthfully I didnt look into it, I just
knew that it was better so I went for it
and had it done, I dont know what type I
had, but sean had it at 3 days old, and it
healed nicely...

Both of my sons are circumcised, and I did
it for their future health.

I know that this is a really old forum to
post in, but when I was talking to my
friend who had asked her doctor about
circumcision she said there is no solid
evidence that says circucision is any
better or worse. However, I think just
to fit in with society it probably would
be better.

I think a boy's should be like his dad's
for potty training reasons, and other
reasons

Circumcision Tradition

Circumcision has been the tradition in my
family for four generations. All the
boys in our extended family are
circumcised. The parents, including
myself, believe it is the parents'
responsibility to ensure good hygiene and
to prevent problems and disease. We all
believe a circumcised penis has a better
look to it and no unsavory smell from
stale urine and smegma. The us should
continue to set this high standard for
hygiene for boys.

by tradition - fine
however, none of my family or partner are
circumsized (it is not the norm in the uk)
and they do not have unsavory smell
from stale urine and smegma.
that would just be poor hygiene. A
foreskin does not mean poor hygiene.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder - I
think circumsized penises look well "odd"

I would never have a son or daughter
circumcised.
its (non-religious) very much an american
custom, rare in europe, south america,
east asia. 8)
i'm from australia, the rate is 5% in my
state. Both in australia and the usa the
medical statements said about the time
that it was not medically necessary as a
routine. In new zealand its all, but
disappeared.
I'm curious why its still at 60% in the
usa? :?
Does anyone know? :?:

There is no valid reason for doing it at
all. Male infants are no more at risk
than females of getting utis. You are not
doing your son a favor by circumcising.
Check out http://www.Sexasnatureinte
ndedit.Com/
in studies, men circumcised as adults
reported both a significant decrease in
sensitivity and a decrease in sexual
satisfaction.

Unless you have problems with social
judgements (even if they are not logical)
and touching your son's penis for the
first year of bathing (to pull back the
skin for cleaning), then yes, whack off
the foreskin.
I had it done for my son because a minimum
of 20 young men (i was a 19 year old
mother and had many young male
acquaintances) mostly said, "do it."
supposedly, the men who had not been
circumcised did painfully accomplish it
later in their lives because of the girls
(aesthetics).
So I did it...I listened as the doctor
merely took my baby just across the hall
from me and (with no pain killer because
they are too young) he cut off the skin.
My baby screamed until he lost his breath
and no more sound came from him for a
minimum of 30 seconds. I was trying to
rip myself from that bed to go rescue him.
Turns out, the doc, who gave me three
opportunities (in 1980) to change my mind
and not circumcise my son, had attitude.
He did not wish to circumcise my boy.
And as luck would have it, my son was, by
the doctor's definition "hung like a stud"
and the plastic bell they placed onto his
penis to hold back the skin while it was
healing...Was the largest they had...But
apparently too small. Three days into
his life as a human being, I had my father
rush me to the hospital where it was
discovered the bell placed on his penis
became a tourniquet and required the only
doctor in the state of alaska to fly in on
a two hour flight to remove it. He's 25
now and partly circumcised (thank
goodness).
I have met quite a few men over the course
of my 25 years from that day who have
terrible symptoms from circumcision.
Some are not able to get hard-ons because
too much skin was cut off. Imagine the
ramifications of that one and it's way too
common among men. There are even therapy
groups for men who have so many social
problems as a result of this very little
hapless act. I would never circumcise
and my son chose not to with his own son.

Circumcise Or Not?

Definitely yes! We have 4 sons, brandon
12, jason and tyrone the twins 10 and
daniel 4 and we had them all circumcised.
The twins were only done at age 6 because
they were preemies but the other 2 shortly
after birth. Very stressful trying to
keep the twins clean until they were done.
So much easier and better looking since.

Yeah, defifitely do it now! My uncle
russel didn't get his. When he was 11,
he was suffering with infections. So he
had to get it at 11, and man was it
painful!!!!! Poor boy really suffered
then.
If you do it when they are a baby, first
off, you cut down on infections. Did you
know that if a man's infection gets really
bad, he can actually spread those germs
ito his wife during intercourse and cause
her to develop and infection? You'll be
saving your son and his future wife alot
of hassle!!!
Last but not least, if you do it when he
is a baby, he won't feel much if the
doctors know what they are doing.
Second, he won't even remember it!

I'm not sure how to vote, but I vote not.
Why else would a boy be born with extra
skin there if it wasn't necessary? Just
my opinion

Im for and not. As some people have said
due to potty training and that
but for I think its a really good idea my
bf had it done because it was stangling
his bell and very painful for him. He had
it done when he was 21 and it was painless
he said. They numbed it locally and he
watched them do it. His doc said most
people are having it done these days
if I had a choice id have it done if I had
a baby boy its so much cleaner and it
looks better too.

My husband had to get circumsized at the
age of 5 cuz he wasnt cleaning it properly
and he still remembers having it done. So
we just had our son done and it was fast
and easy and healed really quick. They
put a plastic thing around it with a
string and it falls off on its own when
its healed. And it came off in 4 days.
And he was totally fine after the
procedure didnt need any pain med or
anything , was his total self. So im
really glad we got it done , and so also
he doesnt have to remember it like his
daddy did :p
