Are all heart problems can be traced through the ecg?

My mother's heart ached for a whole day and went to the doctor for ecg test but there was no findings. Is there any way to find out if she has any heart problems?

There are a whole bunch of tests the doctor can do. So far i've had three ekg's, an ecg, and the holter monitor. Stress tests are also an option, and i'm sure there are other things i've never heard of.
