How Long For a Fracture to Heal? Posted: 09-25-06 12:14pm
I fractured the base of my 2nd metatarsal
in my foot 7 weeks ago. I feel like it
is taking forever to heal. My doctor has
me in a walking cast but for the most part
I am still having to use the crutches.
He told me over the last week to start
weening myself off the crutches but that I
would be in the walking cast for an
additional 4 weeks. I still cannot put
much weight on my foot and my foot is
still extremely swollen. Is this normal
after 7 weeks or do I need to seek a
second opinion? Is it supposed to take
this long to heal?
