Has anyone heard much about hoodia? It
is a cactus plant in south africa that
people have eaten for years to stave off
hunger on long hunting trips. It is now
available in pill or liquid form and the
pure hoodia is somewhat expensive. But
60 minutes went to south africa and
doctors and lab have researched it (and
still are researching it). So far
they've found it has worked to suppress
appetite and hasn't had any known side
effects to date. The people who tested
it dropped their calorie intake by 1000
per day.
Edit (a research firm tests different
brands and stuff) good info!
Edit(i've thought about trying this stuff.
The 60 minutes reports and several news
reports are here also)
wondered if anyone had heard much about it
or know anyone who has tried it?

I've hear of that, but I also know that in
excess it can be poisonous.
My grandmother died of cancer and one of
the reasons she had it was overusing
hoodia...
