Can Lupus Cause Heart Trauma.. And a Hard Time Breathing? Posted: 01-25-04 17:22pm
Hi.. Again... Uh.. Well since they
figured out that my mom has lupus... Do
you think its possible that thats why shes
having heart trauma and a hard time
breathing... They have her in the icu
because of it and.. Its hard to see her
like that.. So I was wondering if lupus
could cause it... Thanks again for your
time... And please answer... Im very
confused about all of this... Thanks some
more :d
Hi princess,
this must be a scary time for you with
your mother in icu. I'm really sorry
she's having such a hard time right now.
I commend you for searching in a good
place like this forum for answers to your
questions; that's a smart thing to do.
What you might want to do, too, is ask
your dad or another relative to have the
doctor sit down and talk to you about
what's going on with your mother. You're
certainly old enough to deserve that
courtesy and understand what he/she is
telling you. If you tell a doctor that
you've been looking things up on the
internet, they usually will take time to
talk to you because they want to "set the
record straight" since they assume you've
probably been to a site with unreliable
information. This site is reliable,
though. Lady brannon, especially, gives
really good information and can send you
to other reliable sites. I hope you've
checked out the faq sticky notes on our
forum.
To answer some of your questions, lupus
hasn't been proven to be hereditary, all
though, it does seem to run in families
sometimes. So you shouldn't assume that
just because someone in your family has it
that you'll also have it. I remember
looking up that same question when I found
out I had lupus because I was worried
about my daughter. I remember reading
that it was highly unlikely for a daughter
to have it if her mother did. Lady
brannon may be able to give you the exact
statistic or send you to a site that
answers that question specifically.
What is happening to your mom right now
may or may not be related to lupus.
Someone can have heart problems because of
lupus since lupus can attack any internal
organ. You'll just have to wait for the
coctors to figure it out. They may be
having a hard time determing the cause,
too.
Whatever the case, we'll all keep your mom
in our thoughts and prayers. Let us know
what you find out from the doctors and how
your mom is doing.

her breathing under control.. She on life

faster than any one thought... They
decided that its probally the lupus thats
causing it.. Along with her arthritus...

Lupus And Heart Trauma Posted: 01-26-04 17:23pm
What I understand about lupus, it attacks
vital organs. So the heart trauma may be
caused by the lupus. She is being
monitored so she is in the right place.
It is hard to see a loved one so
vulnerable, but it sounds like she is in
good hands.

They finnally took her off life support
only to find that she stopped breathin..
Then they put her back on it.. And they
had to take her to emergancy surgey
because everything was failing her.. And
then they said she had enternal bleeding..
And it all happened because o f an ulccer
and a gulbladder... But they got it out
and shers on her way to recovery... They
said that she had only a 10% chance to
live through the sugery... 90% chance
that she would die... But shes one of
those 10% but thanks for every thing..
