I read your post and I cant answer your question because I am not a doctor or a os.But I have had every thing you have had done and I must say more and I ended up with a total knee replacement.
But I have still been in a lot of pain, this is 18 mts after the op.I dont want to put you of but I do suggest you talk about it with your os first.
I must say I did loose my knee cap about 18 yrs before I had the tkr.So I had know knee cap when it was done also my muscle was very weak.Talk it over with your os or doctor next time you have to go vist them.I have also spoken to some people that have a the tkr and have had know problems I think it all depends on the state of your leg when they do it.I am 48yrs old now and had mine done when I was 46 they say the older you are the better but I did it to try and get pain relief thats all and was very dissapointed. So good luck and keep me informed please.

48 Is Young

48 is young for a knee replacement. Much of your pain may be due to the soft tissue surrounding the joint so a knee replacement may not help you!!

This is something you have to talk with your surgeon about. Only someone who knows your history well will be able to help you determine if a replacement will work for you..

Good luck!!!
