That's where I went wrong.. I was told to drink a pint of "fluid" an hour before my scan so i'd have a full bladder (so much fun when they're pressing down hard on your stomach) and I just drank water.. My little one barely opened her legs and the sonographer wasn't 100% sure of the sex, but said she couldn't see any boy bits and it was most likely a girl. I'm trying to get everything in unisex colours just in case, but some family members have been buying pink things Rolling Eyes

yeah, I had to drink 32 ounces of water and on top of that I drank the orange juice. I was soooo uncomfortable and the tech was really digging into my bladder. I'm surprised I didn't pee on the table.

That's weird. I wasn't told to drink any fluid. I've had two ultrasounds at 8 weeks and 12 weeks and never drank a thing.

you might need to for your 20 week. I don't think they make you do it everywhere but it's so your bladder is full and not in the way. It is torture to have such a full bladder and to have them pressing on it.

I had like 7 different ultrasounds and they told me that it didnt' matter weather or not I drank fluids.

Yeah every hospital is different.. My sister was told drinking fluids before the scan wasn't necessary, and yet I was told it was "essential" to drink a pint an hour before or they wouldn't do the scan. Weird..
