I am 32 weeks and 2 days and I think that my baby girl dropped. I woke up this morning and my stomach was noticably lower. My husband even said to me, "wow sweetie, your stomach is sagging." lol. I didn't thinks babies dropped until the last month... Isn't 32 weeks early to drop? Confused

Nope. 32 weeks is not too early to drop. There is no set time limit on most pregnancy related issues - and often you'll notice anything goes Wink

some women never drop. Some women only drop the first pregnancy. While others know dropping means they are getting close to term

enjoy your breathing room!

this may be a stupid question ingi.....But for the women who never drop does this mean that their labour is longer because the baby has a further distance to go than the ones that have dropped?

I'm a bit confused Embarassed

no. Labor is not longer for women who never drop. But breathing is harder and that full stomach feeling is worse for women who don't drop.

Ah, but you pee more when you do drop. So it isn't all wonderful Wink

the best thing to do prior to labor and while in labor to help ease your baby lower is to walk. Do a lot of walking. Being physically fit and limber is excellent for labor/delivery. And the gravity of walking helps the baby move lower in the woman's body. Since it can be difficult to deal with contractions and walk at the same time (much harder than walking and chewing gum!), you could sit on a birth ball and roll your hips in a circular motion.

Yep... I've dropped... I was up and peeing every 30 minutes last night... I got terrible sleep... Will it be like this until the end now? I sure hope not!Man, I hope labor comes sooner rather than later...I dread being a 42 week deliverer...

I thought my baby droped at 32 weeks but I could still button my low rise pre-pregnancy jeans.....Than at about 36 weeks I did drop and buttoning anything wasn't much of an option.

I only wear the full panel jeans from old navy. The ones where you can wear the panel over your belly or fold the panel over. I don't like the regular button maternity jeans... They just don't feel right to me Smile
