Stomach Pains and Fever when boy is eating...what is it? Posted: 10-06-06 14:12pm
My son is 8 years old and has recently
been showing some worrisome symptoms.
Every time he eats, he immediately has
stomach pains afterwards. He also gets
fevers accompanied by the stomach pains
and sometimes has trouble sleeping at
night due to pain. I've taken him in to
the doctor and they've done a ton of
tests. Everything came back normal except
for elevated sediment levels, indicating
there is inflammation somewhere. It's not
constipation or stress. All food allergy
tests came back negative as well. Is
there any other test I should suggest or
anything else we could be overlooking? I
dont know what else to do for my son.

According only to your son’s symptoms
(stomach pain, fever,) and the laboratory
diagnostic results (elevated
sedimentation), it is hard to identify
what is going on with your son. Elevated
sedimentation and fever suggest
inflammation but cannot indicate the
location of possible inflammation. An
abdominal ultrasound, feces specimen for
microbiology and endoscopy might be
requested at his pediatrician's office.
