I am an attractive "slender" 47 year old
female. I have been thru
endocrinology testing twice in my life and
no one has yet been able to determine any
kind of "abnormal inbalances".
In fact, the physician's seem a little
"stumped" due to my being thin, tell me
"well, it's light & just one of those
things", but I think not.
I have spent my lifetime very carefully
managing the abnormal facial hair that
only appears on my chin (& now upper
neck) by using finger clippers each
morning. I did not wish to take the
chance on creating any thickening, or
darkness. However, over the years I
have gained more than a dozen dark hair
folicles. Only my husband is aware
of this. I keep it well hidden,
monopolizing 15 - 30 minutes each morning,
and if running evening errands, a quick
touch up.
At one time in my life, age 25, my ob-gyn
suggested polycystic ovaries - as my
periods had stopped. I was told I
would have to take a fertility drug in
order to, possibly, become pregnant,
etc.
Well as fast as that "possible" disorder
appeared, it disappeared. I found
myself pregnant two (2) years later.
I know have 3 daughters, starting 16 years
ago.
The majority of the public think i'm
approximately ten (10) years younger than
my age. I'm not bragging. I'm
just seeking to figure this out.
The guys go "ga ga" over my muscular body
build. Embarassed, it has finally
gotten to the point that when they ask me
if I work out, I just say yes. It's
not too much, but (the blood techs are
always pleased saying that I have great
veins!). But please note that I
definitly have my father's body build
(muscular veins), but I am female.
My clitoris is slightly enlarged, but
nothing dramatic. I've actually
questioned my current ob-gyn. He
tells me that my gential build is nothing
abnormal. I would, however, have to
suspect that my libido is much stronger
than my female friends of the same age,
when we are upon occassion, sharing
stories. They could do without sex
forever. I could, but I do not
necessarily want to. I continue to
think sex is very fulfilling &
gratifying (one sleeps much sounder).
My only medical condtion is high blood
pressure. It started at a relatively
young age (by age 21). This is also
when the first signs of hirsutism began.
High blood pressure runs in my family,
but hirsutism does not.
Somehow, I can't help but believe that
all, or somewhere combined, that it is
somehow all connected.
Are there any other slender built,
naturally muscular, females with hirsutism
out there that may share some common
denominators i've described, possibly
starting at late teens or early
twenties?
Thank you in advance!

Welcome! I have been thin a few times in
my life, mainly due to stress and illness,
I have had trouble with chin hair and
neuro problems and pain. Just out of
curiosity, have you tried waxing? I do
get a few dark hairs on my neck every now
and then but I have a large birthmark that
I feel that covers them up pretty good, I
always thought that the hair was due to
possible hormones and was no big deal so I
just shaved them off in the morning but
they do grow back, I have tried plucking
them and it is the same situation as
shaving them. My blood pressure goes up
with pain. I am not real muscular but I
used to work out a lot and swim but now
with the neuro problems it is just
difficult enough just trying to walk. I
have never been diagnosed with this but I
don't remember telling my dr about this
situation. I have seen a lot of women to
have hair on their chin so I felt it was
kind of normal(whatever normal is). Just
out of curiosity, what about nair or
something like that, where you put it on
your legs, leave it on for awhile and
rinse it off and the hair rinses off
too?
I wish you luck and hope they can find a
cure for this!
