Could I have another Tubal Pregnancy? Posted: 10-08-06 22:53pm
My periods are regulary normal. My last
period was 9/6/2006. I have taken a Home
pregnancy test and the results were
negative. However, I have no signs of my
periods coming. My last pregnacy was a
tubal one, and when taking test it always
showed up as negative. Could this be
happening again????

In the case of an ectopic pregnancy, the
embryo secretes less HCG than during a
normal pregnancy . This is why a home
pregnancy test (using urine) can be a
false-negative. Therefore, you can request
a blood pregnancy test (beta) which is a
more specific and sensitive test than one
using urine. This test can be done only in
a medical institution so you can appeal to
your gynecologist for help.
