My mom had to go to the hospital yesterday
because of stomach pain. The doctor
suspected an inflammed appendix and
removed it. But her usual doctor
suspected gallbladder problems a few weeks
ago. She has high blood pressure and
heart disease and they had to give her
medicine to lower her blood pressure
during surgery. I am concerned because
she had to stay overnight because her
blood pressure was still too low 12 hours
after surgery and she wasn't producing any
urine. The nurse said it was the blood
pressure medication but it seems like 12
hours should have been plenty of time for
the medication to wear off. They took a
wait and see approach (they're really nice
people but i'm worried they aren't
checking her for other possibilities.)
some websites said some things that can
cause low blood pressure/no urine output
are gallbladder or pancreas infection
(maybe the hospital Dr. Misdiagnosed her
appendicitis, read it's very common),
heart disease, pulmonary embolism clot
(from laying still in a hospital) and
other things. She is being released today
and I would like to make an appointment
for her to be checked by a specialist if
possible. What type of doctor is for
gallbladder/appendix/pancreas type
problems? Does anyone have a similar
experience and any advice? Thank you!

Found out the specialist would be a
gastroenterologist (in our phonebook the
gastros don't list treating gallbladders
etc.) read that appendicitis is often
misdiagnosed at the hospital when it
really is the gallbladder, pancreas,
kidneys or something else. I hope she
wasn't misdiagnosed and has possible organ
damage, will make her an appointment with
specialist if her symptoms continue.
Thanks again!
