What to Do

I have been pretty happily married to my wife for the past 11 years. We have 3 great kids together(8, 5, 4). Just this spring she began playing everquest online and basically separated herself from her family altogether(parents, me, kids). She has now gone to a psychologist and was diagnosed with severe depression but only saw him twice and feels she does not have a real problem. The other day we had a fight over her use of the computer since she spends a lot of time talking with other people and not me. She tells me that she does not love me anymore or says she is not sure but does not want to be with me. I have been ablsolutely miserable since I love here with all of my heart and have always wanted to spend the rest of my life with her. We are going to counseling today but I feel that she is being cold and doesn't really want to try. Please help with any advise. I can't even eat and as an athlete, I don't even want to train or compete right now. I need help!

Well, if she has an actual dx of "severe depression" that puts a different spin on things..............................The words that comes out their mouths can not always be taken seriously...........And there may be hope...........But I wouldn't count on it.............Often they are too wrapped up in themselves and very incapable of helping themselves..............And use escapism, like addictions to remove themselves from reality..........Like the computer game.................It's not real, it's fantasy and fantasy holds no threats........................What to do?..............Support her, gently insist on therapy/treatment.....................But really my friend, you try and you try..............................If the person does not want help.............................There's not a dam thing you can do about it.

And p.S.: as an athlete you know the importanance of nutrition and exercise..............Does she?.....................It makes a world of difference to those with depression. Smile
