Hi! I have had left upper abdominal pain
off and on for two years. I have had two
us that were negative, two hida's that
were negative, and a host of blood
work...All negative. My blood protein was
the only thing slightly elevated. I also
have terrible gerd for which I take
prilosec for about two years. If I skip
one day, boy do I suffer! Anyway, I had a
bad few days of pain, fever, and nausea so
I went to the er last week. Here are my
ct scan results:
the pancreas apprears normal in size.
There is a 10mm cyst located posterior mid
body of the pancreas superior and adjacent
to the coursing splenic vein.
Statistically, and if there have been
prior histories of pancreatitis, this may
represent pancreatic cyst from prior
sequela of pancreatitis. Other etiologies
such as ipmt and other serous and mucinous
cysts of the pancreas are not excluded.
Mri examination my be of benefit for
further characterization and consider
follow up to determine stability.
There is a 7mm hypoattenuating lesion
lower pole kidney too small to definitely
characterize, statistically, most likely
small cyst.
There are lymph nodes in the mesentery the
right lower quadrant inferior to the cecum
increased in size and number. There are
greater than 7 in number with the largest
measuring 9x5 mm. This is a nonspecific
finding possibly is enteric adenitis or
reactive. Clinical correlation
receommended.
Everything else was normal.
Any thoughts or ideas? I have never had
pancreatitis or gall bladder problems. I
do have pressure most of the time under
the left rib cage.
