Advise On Natural Birth Control And Quiting the Pill Posted: 10-11-06 15:23pm
I've been on birth control for about 5
years and decided for my health I should
take a break from the pill and let my body
be natural. Well about a week ago our
condom broke and I was really worried so I
took the 72 hour pill. I know I have
just done a number on my body with the
inconsistensy of horomones, but I am about
a week late on my period. I'm not to
worried that I am pregnant, I would just
like to know what to expect for the next
couple of months, as far as how off my
periods will be and how bad. Also if
anyone has a good suggestion on natural
methods it would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!

Natural family planning is effective, but
you must use fertility monitors and
abstain form sex at certain times of the
month.
If hormones bother you, why not consider
an non hormonal iud?
it doesn't however cover charting or the
nuva ring (yet)
for the best help with charting and free
online charting facilites have a look at
http://www.Fertilityfriend.Com
you can plot you bbt, cm, and many other
signs to keep an accurate check on your
fertility
however natural family planning should
only be used by women for whom pregnancy
would not be a problem.
The pill is fine to use for long periods
of time and if you aren't looking to get
pregnant then the best thing really would
be to stay on the pill. The dosages are
so low nowadays that they really are one
of the best forms of birth control

True, or unless you may consider an
abortion..
Natural methods just are not as effective
as hormonal and other types of birth
control.

Abortion should never be used as a form of
birth control.
If you don't want to get pregnant - you
use protection - you do not just shrug it
off and say "oh well I can have an
abortion".

I was not implying that at all.. I used
fertility awareness method between my two
iud's, I became pregnant on one and needed
to wait a few months to have another
inserted.
I am allergic to latex, so I used
spermicide sponges, but if I became
pregnant again I would have had an
abortion.That is what I mean.
