Polyp: is pain/hard bump on the stomach connected to polyp? Posted: 10-15-06 16:37pm
Hello,
I am in my early twenties and had a 3 cm
polyp removed from my colon a year ago. I
have been re-colonoscpoed 6 months after
that and thankfully everything looks
alright.
My question now is i have an increasingly
annoying pain to the left side of my belly
button. If i press on it i feel that there
is a bump inside (compared to the same
position on the right side of my belly
button). I am not bleeding anymore but my
bowels are not regular and dont look
right.
Any ideas what it might be? Is it serious?
Does it have a connection with the polyp
taken out?

According to the symptoms you describe
(“pain and feeling something on the left
side of the belly button”), it is
impossible to recommend possible diagnoses
without a physical examination and an
abdominal ultrasound. Whatever it is, it
doesn’t seem likely to be connected with
the removed polyp from the colon because
polyps in the colon do not manifest with
pain but with rectal bleeding... or are
without any symptoms.
