Baby Name Dilemma~ Cant Hurt the Grandparents... Posted: 01-27-04 17:19pm
Hey everyone* I am 14 weeks n 5 days
pregnant as of today* anyhow.. As some
of u may know. .If its a girl I am going
to name her jaiden, and if its a boy, I
was going to name him carson. But there
is a big problem. When I first got
pregnant and was thinking of names, I told
my mom I was considering the name grant,
(my grandpas name) so she told my
grandparents.. Well, I had changed my
mind because for some reason I cant see me
calling him grant if its a boy. . But
yesterday I went to lunch with my
grandparents and to the hospital with them
to visit their friend.. And they were
bragging and all excited telling them how
happy they were that if its a boy it will
be a baby grant. My grandpa looked so
thrilled about it and they looked all
glowy and I can tell my grandpa felt real
good that I was going to name my baby
after him..I guess after talking to my mom
they thought I was going to for sure.. .
. . I dont want
to break their hearts!! Their so set on
the name grant now if its a boy... What
do I do?? And what do all of u honestly
think about the name grant?? Thanks*

I think grant is such a cute name but if u
dont feel comfortable about it.. How bout
asking them if they woujld mind it as a
middle name? What if the baby doesnt look
like grant? They shouldnt be too upset
over the name once they see the beautiful
baby... Just talk to them and make name
suggestions and see what they do/say... I
hope everything works out
Grant is a good name. But you have to
like it. Choose what's right for you. By
the time the baby comes, they will be so
excited they'll forget it.

Hey everyone thank you for replying. I
wish it was that easy to give it his
middle name if its a boy, but its not
because my cousin already has the middle
name grant and my grandpa says "thats just
not the same" he is sooo thrilled. Also,
ive decided on the middle names marie for
a girl, and matthew for a boy, its a chain
now, my dad and brother have matthew, and
me, my mom and my sister have marie...But
anyhow, its like I made them so happy
saying I would name it grant.. But I do
like the name. .Its just maybe I cant
see calling him that because its old
fashioned being it is my grandpas name.
.Do u guys think its a cute name tho?
Would anyone else ever name a son grant?
I just dont want to name it sometihng I
will regret and I loved the name carson..
Im not sure yet. .Maybe I will get
lucky and have a girl like I orginally
hoped tho!

Hopefully you have a girl!
just kidding! How about giving him a
name that sounds like grant or the middle
name grant!?
i think you should really do what you like
because my sons dad picked out the name
efrain and I picked out javier so we
decided to call him efrain javier but he
promised we would call him by his middle
name-nobody did and now I have this awful
name for my son!
