a Problem That I've Been Having For a While
Posted: 10-17-06 14:11pm

Hi i'm new to this forum and i'm happy to be a part of this community. I have a question about a problem that has been somewhat bothersome, and I believe it might be related to weight-training but I would still like to have it double checked. Well I am 18 years of age and I was off weight-training for a few months and got back to it about 3 months ago. I'm basically a bodybuilder and i'm building up my body to join my college swim team. Anyways I have a personal trainer whom I trust and he helps me constantly with my form to make sure that it is correct when i'm working out. Well about a month and a half ago i've had a problem relating to my throat. I get a sharp pain everytime when I brush my teeth and gurgle water and spit it back out. What happens is when I spit the water back out, and swallow, the pain begins around my throat pipe and travels down and fades away. Sometimes I think the pain might be also located on my neck muscles the sternocleomescodites (excuse the mispelling) I have been to my doctor and he prescribed me z-pack and asked me to take it 5 day in a row: 2 the first day, and 1 for every of the 3 days that remaind. I've taken those pills according to the instruction from my doctor however the pain did not go away. Infact last night when I brushed my teeth the pain seemed to have somewhat worsened. My doctor asked me to comeback to him in november and if the pain still persists then he will assign me to a throat specialist. He also assures me that it is not a tumor of any kind or cancer. So after this long description my question is basically why is it am I having these pains? Is it the fact that i've been working out(which I doubt so) or is it something else? If it helps any the tooth paste that I have been using contains a lot of baking soda but the pain as far as I remember started 2 weeks before I started using that tooth paste but the pain did worsen after I started using it. I'm quite worried that it is not something very serious and I would love to have an answer or a atleast a clue as to what it might be

thanks Smile
