I was stung by a yellow jacket about three
weeks ago. The actual sting spot is still
raised, although basically healed, and
itches like crazy! I have had some other
problems and wonder if they could be
related. My glands in my neck are very
swollen and tender, I have had my arms
break out in welt-like bumps while out for
a walk. My arms were exposed and it was
kind of cold out, they got very red and
felt hot on the inside then came the
bumps, but only where the wind was hitting
them. The most recent problem is that my
upper lip has swollen to 3 times it's
normal size (looks like the poster for why
you should not get plastic surgery! :d) I
am at a loss for what to do here!

Get Medical Attention! Posted: 10-18-06 12:18pm
Hi, if I were you, i'd go to the doctor or
er as asap......I am highly allergic to
bees, wasp, yellow jackets etc and have to
have a redipen available anytime I get
stung. What you are describing sounds to
me like you are having an allergic
reaction to this sting. The stinger is
still inside therefore causing the itching
like mad. Some people are so highly
allergic to stings it can cause death.
Not trying to frighten you, just want you
to be aware this could be something that
needs attention now! Hope this helps!
