Pink Eye Still Contagious After 2/3 Weeks? Posted: 10-23-06 14:39pm
Hello, I contracted pink eye about 2 weeks
ago (from girlfriend). It was in both
eyes.
I've been on antibiotic eye drops for
about a week now. Both eyes have cleared
up a lot.
My left eye (first one that had it) still
has a slight discharge and is still
slightly swollen. The right eye is pretty
much back to normal.
My question is that after having it for
two weeks and being on antibiotics for
almost a week, is it still possible to
spread the bacteria?
Has the antibiotics killed the bacteria?
Is this a crazy question because it
differs from person to person?
Thank you for your input!

I would suggest talking to the dr or nurse
or the assistant on duty, I have had pink
eye before and it should not take this
long to heal.
Good luck!

it took my gf two weeks to get over it
when she had it also. Her whole family
had it, they all pretty much had it for
nearly two weeks.
It's alot better, almost cant tell I have
it anymore.
Just wondering if it's still contagious.
I'm ready to get out of the house without
acting like a germ freak and without fear
of getting someone else infected
