I think that's disgusting!!!
My water broke, I was bleeding all over
the place and a huge head and body was
coming out of my cooch, the last thing I
wanted to do was bust one.
i understand when women are so far into
labor they cant have an epidural but I
don't know why anyone would want to go
through labor naturally, why go through
all that pain when you don't have too?
I seen my cousin have her baby about a
week ago. She's 17 and said she'd go
through it naturally. (she's a tough ho
too) she was screaming and sh*t! I was
really scared, but when she had that
epidural she was so happy hahaha i'll
always remember that look on her face.
I also think having an epidural makes you
enjoy labor and birth a lot more. Being
in labor and brayden being born couldnt
have been any better for me, I enjoyed it
so much and watched him come out, and was
smiling and not in pain.

Iheartmybostonterrior, that is funny!
Darcialovesyou, we are all different!
Some females do not like chemicals in
their system, do not like needles, have a
lower tolerance of a pain level and just
want to be more comfortable, some females
have problems with their blood pressure
and anxiety among other situations, it is
normally between the dr and the pregnant
female that is why that their are some
females that even need c-sections. I
myself went natural but that was my choie
and their were a few times that I felt
like yelling out in pain as both of my
babies were of good size, heck, my son
weighed 10 lbs 2 oz. So they did give me
something when I was getting stitched up
as I was ripped up pretty good with him
plus I was in the orocess of having him
when I reached the hospital so it was
about to late anyway and I don't have any
regrets.

I would change my labor expeierence for a
million dollars. Giving birth with *no*
medical intervention was totally worth the
pain. I knew from the minute I got
pregnant that I would go drug free. Me
not having an .I.V was a last minute
decision that I made.
I can understand how a lot of women talk
smack about being able to handle the pain
and then buckling uner the pressure.
Birth was a beautiful thing for me. I
enjoyed every second of my birth. Yea, I
was in pain, but I felt my daughters head,
shoulders, chest, knees, and toes come out
of my body. I was able to walk immedietly
after and the pain didn't smack me in the
face when the epidural wore off(cuz I had
felt the pain throught labor)
some people prefer drugs though, ya know?
If I wouldn't be naturalistic, I might
have gotten meds. Of course I took them
when the ordeal was over and I was in my
room relaxing.
I don't judge people if they choose to
have the epidural. I don't think of them
as "less of a woman" because they chose
meds. That's just not right to do. I
don't see how people could look down upon
those who choose meds.
Birth, reguardless of meds or none, is a
beautiful experience!!!!

Lol...Humbra! I hear ya.
You wouldn't believe how many people call
me *crazy* for having her like I did, ya
know?
But I had my birth plan and didn't want it
to go wrong.
Like I said, if I wasn't *terrified* of
needles, I might have gotten the epidural.
Maybe...Prob not, but maybe.
Another reason why I chose to go drug
free, was because I had been running my
mouth the entire pregnancy about how I
was gonna go drug free and there was no
way I would get an epi. And I could hear
everyone in my ear while I was laboring "i
told you you couldn't do it" "what did I
tell you, you should've listened to
me"...Sh't like that.
I had to, in a way, prove my strength.

I feel like that too! Everyone in the
office says how I won't be able to
tolerate the pain but i'm sure I will.
So, i'm determined to go drug free b/c
they are all saying that labor sucks and
blah blah blah...

Lol...That is what helped push me through
it. One of my friends,.Nicole, used to
always say "yooouu'lll seee!!"..."i'm
tellin ya, it's not as east as you seem to
think!"....Sh't along those lines. And in
the video you can hear me making fun of
her and saying "see that b'tch!!!!"
hahahahha...We crack up at it now!
But now she knows not to tell me that I
can't do anything.
My s-i-l is pregnant and i'm trying to
convince her to at least *try* to go drug
free. But i've let her know, that i'm
proud of her either way. As it's her 1st
child. My b-i-l keeps tellin her he wants
her to have him drug free. He says, "if
.Sarah did it, you have to do it" "people
are gonna think you're week because little
bitty .Sarah could take it and you
can't!!"
i was like how dare he say that to the
woman who is about to birthe his
child!?!?!?!? He's lucky she can even
have him vaginally, as the baby *just*
flipped into the head down position at 35
weeks. We were all sure it was going to
be a c section. So I feel that she is
blessed to be able to have a vaginal
birth. Who cares if she takes the
needle??
Just know that you *can* do it!!! I
promise you, it isn't as bad as everyone
claims it to be. At least mine
wasn't....
If I could tell you 2 things to help you
through it, they would be:1 .D.O. .N.O.T
.T.E.N.S.E .U.P during a contraction.
Relax, and let your body go to jell-o.
Release the pain through your toes.
2. Breathe. In through your nose and
slowly out from our mouth. Moan lightly
if it helps to relieve tension(it did for
me)
good .Luck!

I know that I *can* do it and I would if I
had to, but since I don't *have* to i'm
going for the epidural. I'm with dalicia,
I think it'll be more enjoyable for me if
i'm not in an incredible amount of pain
and discomfort. It will still be a
beautiful experience, I just have no
desire to put myself through that if I
don't have to.
It's your own (and your partner's, in most
cases) very personal experience, do what
you have to to make it exactly what you
want it to be.

I thoroughly enjoyed my epidural.
up until the transition phase, I was only
uncomfortable. I think because I waited
until I *needed* it, my labor went by a
little quicker. But who knows!

I forgot to add that i'm not going to go
in and immediately demand an epidural.
I'm going to wait until i'm uncomfortable
enough to need it.

same. I'm starting off in the mind set
of refusing all drugs. But realistically
I know at some point during the labour I
will probably change my mind, and i'm fine
with that too. But I figure, why not
just attempt it?

Tanya, don't have that doubt in yourself.
You can do it and you won't need drugs.
You're a strong person. I know you can do
it!

When I was headed to the hospital my
contractions were 2 minutes apart, and
they gave me that stuff in my i.V to make
my contractions more stronger. Having
those contractions so soon one after
another stressed me out so much.
And for those who are scared of needles,
if anyone has ever had an i.V, the
epidural doesn't even hurt that bad!
After I got the epidural I was in heaven.
I could still feel my contractions but not
to where it hurt really bad, I pushed for
about an hour and could feel him come out,
and since I wasn't in pain I watched the
whole thing, and I figured if I was in a
lot of pain I would of been so
concentrated on it that I wouldnt of even
watched him come out. Thats when they
stopped my epidural, it took about 5
minutes to get the placenta out, and by
that time I could feel my legs, and then
the nurse helped me up and we got ready to
switch rooms, I took a sitz bath and put
on these cool undies they give you with
the huge pads haha! My cooch hurt like
hell though =( I got some stitches!

I thought about doing it the same way.
Going natural. I simply could not handle
it. By the time I got to the hospital my
contractions were 3 minutes apart and that
was at 8 in the morning. About 30 min
later there was no break in between them.
They just kept coming. Even the
freaking nurses were shocked while they
watched the monitor. One nurse was like,
i've never seen them come like that. I
made it to 11:00 am with nothing then I
couldn't take it. I wasn't even 2cm
dilated. D*mn straight I went with the
epi. I didn't have the baby until 8:53
pm. The darn thing wore off too before I
was fully dilated and they wouldn't give
me another one. so trust
me I felt it. Everyone's birth
experience is not the same. My mom said
her worst ever labor was with me and I was
her third child. She said that with my
sister (her second) she didn't feel
anything at all. She said she didn't
need any drugs with her but for me she
begged them to knock her out. So I think
it's more than just different tolerance
levels for pain, I think it's each
individual birth as well.
