Am I Going to Have Him Soon? Posted: 10-24-06 21:14pm
Ok im 36 weeks pregnant with my first.
My doc is expecting him to come by nov 1st
even tho my due date isnt till the 22nd.
Well he dropped probaly over 3 weeks ago
and some of my mucus plug has came out.
I got checked last night at the ob cause I
thought I was leaking but I was dilated at
all. I was having a lot of contractions
while I was there, but not very strong.
After they checked me I had a little blood
of course, thats normal, and that went
away. Then I started having painful
contractions when I was trying to go to
sleep. Also all day today, but today
sometimes they arent very painful just
tighting. They have been from 2-4 mins
apart but arent regular. The nurse told
me to just wait it out, and see what
happens. Im also being sleeping a lot
lately like 14 hrs a day and feeling
really achy and nausas, like flu like
symtoms. They also say that its about
2-4weeks after you drop that you go into
labor in first time pregnacys, and its
been 3 weeks. Did anyone else go through
all this? Do you think I might be close?
Thank you!

My baby dropped about 3 weeks ago. I
lost a lot of my mucus plug. I've been 1
cm dilated for 5 weeks and almost
completely effaced. My doctor has been
saying for 3 weeks that i'll go any day
now and i'm still here at 39 1/2 weeks.
I also have lots of contractions that are
very tight, but no real labor yet.
My baby is fooling the doctor, since he
thought she'd come 3 weeks early.
You never know what could happen. Don't
get your hopes up, it's frustrating
waiting day after day.

Happened to me.
Baby dropped, jeez, around 35 weeks, maybe
34 weeks.
From 36 weeks onwards had crazy pressure
and aches and pains, and actually went
into hospital twice with false
labour-everyone was sure i'd have my baby
early.
I went into real labour on my due date.
The up-side of it was, after all the
getting ready my body was evidently doing,
and with the pain tolerence I had built up
with the "false" contractions, I was
already 5 cm dilated when they checked at
the hospital- only about two hours after
my first contraction. Baby was born
almost 4 hours later, no drugs, no
stitches.
Try to forget about it, don't bother
timing every ache and pain, it just saps
your will to live.
