According to your description (“pea sized bump in the anus under the skin”) it is possible that you are experiencing a hemorrhoid nodule. Hemorrhoids are enlarged veins under the skin/mucosa in the anus or rectum. They can be primary (idiopathic) or secondary (symptomatic) conditions.
Primary hemorrhoids in the anus and rectum are due to slow blood circulation in this region, feces that are too hard, a diet poor in cellulose (plant life), lifestyle, and/or genetically conditioned weak veins.
Secondary hemorrhoids are due to blood stasis caused by other diseases (usually tumors). Hemorrhoids don’t cause any problems until they become inflamed. Inflamed hemorrhoids manifest with anal pain, itching, secretion, and bleeding, especially during bowel movements.
Another possibility in your case is the presence of tumor of any kind.
You can visit an abdominal surgeon or an internist for anal examination and to establish a proper diagnosis.
