I get the whole rh factor antibody reaction... But here is my question - why doesn't the mother build antibodies against the baby for the abo typing? If a mom has a type blood and the baby has b type blood, would the mom build antibodies against the baby's b blood should it cross the placenta, as in rh factor?

Hi iam rh- and iwas to have the shot in my last pregnancy but my husbands blood type rules out my rh- i don't get that either?
