Plastic Surgeon + Gynecologist ...how to locate? Posted: 10-25-06 15:00pm
Hi at the age of 29 I had a total
hysterectomy. However, I had noticed a
couple years later having trouble with a
problem known to me now is called a
rectocele. I tired to live with it as long
as possible yuk..well just in the past 6
months now starting to have additional
problems with my bladder. Such a
occasional incontinence? In the middle of
the night if laying on my stomach or
trying to make my way to the bathroom.
Sneeze, cough, or laugh. SAD.. I believe I
am in need of a bladder suspension and
rectrocele repair. Not to mention even a
tummy tuck from my 3 babies. now all grown
adults. My question is how can I find a
board certified plastic surgeon and a
board cert. gyn. that will work together
to carry this out in the most safest
manner. Any suggestions....Live in houston
tx. Northeast area. Please help me find
the right doctor for these procedures.
Also is a lap band out of the question
while doing these other procedures?
Yep..Just want to do the right thing for
my physical and mental well being. Thanks
for any and all info....
Looking for a dream to finally be a dream
come true...I'm in good health. a young
wife, mom and grandma x4.
Incontinence may be due to experiencing
rectocele and cystocele. Surgical
treatment may be necessary. To find a
board certified plastic surgeon and a
board certified gynecologist that can work
together with you in Houston, you can try
a keyword search in an internet search
engine. Words like "medical certified
gynecologist houston" can produce good
results. Then, you might need to make
phone calls to doctor offices, ask for
recommendations from friends or relatives,
and compare notes before choosing your
specialists. Be very specific about what
you're looking for and analyse all the
options. You might also seek counsel from
national certifying boards like the
American Board of Medical Specialties
(www.abms.org) or other such
organizations. Be conscious that
searching for a specialist is like any
other consumer activity: the more prepared
and informed you are, the more educated
your decision will be.
