A fetus's heart pulsations are normally
seen on an ultrasound for the first time
during the 7th-8th week of pregnancy. In
your case, it seems that the levels of
human chorion-gonadotropin (HCG) should be
also monitored. HCG levels double every 2
days during the first 7 weeks of
pregnancy. If the levels of HCG don’t
rise or fall and there are no heart
pulsations on an ultrasound, then the
embryo may be dead. There is nothing you
can do but wait for the exams.
