Did you go to the hospital because you had 1 contraction? I was told not to go until my contractions are 3 minutes apart for an hour. 1 contraction isn't going to do anything. You need to wait until your baby is ready to come out. It could be tomorrow, it could be 2 weeks from now.

Until that changes.

I know that sounds terrible, but it is the truth. No one can predict labor, it will do it's own thing.

You are not actively in labor. Even if you are having a lot of cramping and pain, that is not considered labor - especially if there has been no change in your cervix.

Let me guess, they said wait until you are having at least 6 contractions an hour, right?

You still have 1 1/2 weeks until your estimated due date. They estimate the due dates because they can't pinpoint when your body will go into labor.

Good luck! I know it's hard, but relax and remember that very soon you will have to share that baby with the world. For now it is all yours.

Yeah that's what my doc said. But he said 5 minutes apart. Or when I can't walk or talk through one.

Join the club. I've been 1 cm for 5 weeks. I know it's aggravating.

One contraction an hour is not labor and no one can tell you how much longer you'll have to wait ......Let nature do its thing!
