john 11:44…. The dead man came out, his
hands and feet wrapped with strips of
linen, and a cloth around his face. Jesus
said to them, "take off the grave clothes
and let him go."
on april 7th, 2000, I underwent a liver
transplant. As a result of my previous
lifestyle I had contracted hepatitis c.
After more than twenty years this had
surfaced as cirrhosis of my liver.
(see link to ‘peter’s testimony’
below.)
because of prolonged damage I was told
that without a liver transplant I would
not live more than another two months.
Miraculously god undertook and within two
weeks of receiving this news I was given a
transplant.
A year or so later, during a routine
follow-up appointment at hospital, it was
discovered that my new liver was becoming
infected by the hepatitis virus.
I was offered a course of
interferon/ribaviron treatment and the
doctors explained, in detail, all the
negative side-effects to expect if I
accepted the offer. There was no way that
I wanted to go through this treatment. I
prayed and wrestled with it until,
finally, in january 2003 I decided to give
it a go.
On the morning that I was scheduled to
receive my first injection, the lord spoke
to me though john 11:44. Without
miraculous intervention I was a ‘dead
man’. The shroud of death; the
‘strips of linen’ and ‘cloth’ that
bound me represented hepatitis c. Jesus
commanded that these ‘grave clothes’
be removed, taken off, and that I was to
be ‘let go’.
Immediately I knew that god had intervened
and that jesus had commanded my healing.
I, therefore, went to that first hospital
appointment with a spring in my step and
told the hep. C team that, although I was
going to go through the treatment, I fully
believed that I was already healed.
Three months into the treatment the
‘viral load test’ result was, ‘no
virus found’. However, the doctors
insisted that I complete the twelve months
course.
During that time none of the major
side-effects (hair loss, anxiety,
psychosis, depression, etc) affected me.
Towards the end I did become quite tired,
worn-out and emotional but not to the
extent that I was told to expect.
I finished the treatment in february 2004
but had to wait another six months for the
final tests to be completed.
In july 2004 I was told that the hepatitis
c was gone.
I said, ‘can it come back?’
‘no’, they said, ‘go and have a
long, healthy and happy life.
‘praise god! You must be delighted to
give people this fantastic news’
‘you are the first patient ever, post
transplant, to be completely healed.’
‘this is a miracle, praise god!’
‘yes, this is wonderful’ she
exclaimed. ‘your faith has made the
difference.’
so then faith cometh by hearing, and
hearing by the word of god. (romans 10:17
kjv)
lord jesus, thank you for conquering
sickness and death. Amen
