I'm sleepless right now and i'm only 6 wks along. I researched it and the majority of doctors and women experienced in pregnancy say that it's more normal than not! They say that the same hormones (mostly progestrone) that make you fatigued during the day make you restless and sleepless at night (fun right?!) well, I refuse to take anything I can live without, so benydril is outta the question for me, but i've found that repeating a prayer (or meditation for those who don't pray) knocks me right out at night. Also, my husband and I have started sleeping with our heads toward the foot of the bed and, for some reason, this works.

I am 35 weeks and I am sleeping like a baby nowadays. Last night I only got up 2 times to pee. Now granted, I do sleep with a couch pillow, a body pillow, two throw pillows, and 3 or 4 bed pillows. My poor husband only gets 2 Smile I do feel like I need to nap during the day though. Last night when I got home at 7:30, I laid down in the lay z boy and slept until 9:30. Then I still felt like I needed to sleep again only an hour later at 10:30 and I slept until 9:00 this morning. But the time I do sleep, though random, is good. I found that rotating from side to side whenever I wake helps. So, I start by lying on my left side, and when I wake up, I fall alseep on my right side, and then when I wake again, I go back to sleep on my left. I never sleep on my back though b/c I was told that it's not good for the baby, and I find that it makes my back sore in the morning anyways.
